Enable push notifications
Once Cosmesoft One is installed, turn on push notifications so you get alerted about things like bookings and tasks directly on your device — even when the app isn't open.
Browser support: Cosmesoft One is only fully supported on Google Chrome. Use Chrome wherever possible for installing and using the app; Safari should not be presented as a fully supported browser.
This guide assumes you've already installed Cosmesoft One. If not, start with How to install the Cosmesoft app.
Before you begin
Check your install method supports notifications:
Device
| Install method
| Notifications supported?
|
|---|---|---|
| Desktop (Mac/Windows) | Chrome | Yes |
| Android | Chrome | Yes |
| iPhone/iPad | Chrome | Limited — Cosmesoft One remains Chrome-only for full support. iOS push notifications may depend on current Apple browser/PWA limitations. |
On iPhone/iPad, use Chrome for the supported Cosmesoft One experience. If push notifications do not appear, this may be due to current iOS platform limitations rather than a Cosmesoft One setting.
Step 1 – Open the installed app
Launch Cosmesoft One from your dock, taskbar, Start menu, home screen, or app drawer — not from a browser tab.
Step 2 – Allow notifications when prompted
- When prompted, tap or click Allow.
- On iOS/Android, this may also trigger a system-level permission prompt — allow that too.
- If dismissed, the prompt reappears on future sign-ins, up to a few times.
Step 3 – Check device notification settings (if needed)
- macOS: System Settings → Notifications → find the app → ensure allowed.
- Windows: Settings → System → Notifications → find the app → ensure it's on.
- iOS: Settings → [app name] → Notifications → Allow Notifications on.
- Android: Settings → Apps → [app name] → Notifications → ensure it's on.
How to confirm it's working
Trigger a test event (e.g. a new booking) and confirm it appears on your device while the app isn't in the foreground.
