About Services
The Services catalogue in Cosmesoft is where you define the treatments, consult types, and services offered at your practice. It acts as the master menu of services for booking into your calendar, POS, and online booking site.
Services may also be referred to as Treatments, Procedures, or Appointments in some parts of the product.
What Services covers
The Services section allows you to manage your clinic offerings with precision, ensuring that the calendar, booking system, and invoicing are all synchronised.
- Service Categories — Group services so clients can easily navigate your online booking site (e.g. "Medical Aesthetics", "Dermal Therapies", "Consultations"). A service can belong to more than one category, allowing it to appear in multiple relevant areas of online booking.
- Timing and Scheduling — Defining exactly how long a service takes, including pre-treatment, post-treatment and "gap" times.
- Pricing and Billing — Setting retail prices and tax configurations (GST) for automated POS invoicing.
- Online Booking — Manage service visibility and deposit requirements on your public booking site, and configure how services appear on the platform.
Why it matters
Correctly configured services ensure that:
- Your schedule is accurate — Prevent overbooking by configuring services to include any required pre-treatment, post-treatment, or gap time.
- Revenue is secured — Mandatory service deposits protect against no-shows.
- Compliance is maintained — Linking forms to services ensures mandatory paperwork is completed before treatment.
How it fits into your workflow
- Calendar & Roster — Services are used to book appointments. The duration ensures your clinicians' rosters are managed accurately.
- Online Booking Site — Your public booking portal displays the services, descriptions, and images configured in this section.
- Point of Sale (POS) — Services added to an invoice automatically pull the correct pricing and tax settings.
- Clinical Records — Consultations are linked to specific services, ensuring clinical notes and forms are correctly categorised.
